I am gonna pretend today is 31st April.
Up from this ninth floor
These infinite number of cars go past
Light glaring, zooming out in seconds
These high-rises and their hundreds of apartments
Waking, sleeping, the city is active
Those lights that form a pattern
Real beauty at night
Overpower those little stars
Barely visible through this sky
Everyone on a journey
Towards God knows where
In search of a home? A destination?
A feeling of belonging?
Leaving behind the roads, the people, the lights
Without a second glance
Indifferent to the path
Finding the way to Nowhere
Blazing into Nothingness
And then there’s this red light
Sudden stillness
Tik-tok, tik tok
Seconds seem like infinity
Beeping past a life on rush
Breaking the flow, crushing the routine
It takes a second
To realize the signal changed
It’s green again
That one second, you notice the path along
The break in flow stumbles you out
The Journey has now begun.
Towards the countless red lights,
Towards questions,
Towards beginnings and endings
Non stop.
Up from the ninth floor
These infinite number of cars go past
Each waiting to find their abode
But going on the path to The Path.
So…up from this new ninth floor house of mine, the view is really nice! Happy 31st everyone! [Please play along. I couldn’t write on 30th! 😦
April went great. I wrote pieces that were rubbish, but I wrote and it was a great experience. Couldn’t write for 3 days though, but anyway not that bad! Surely doing this again next time, maybe with better epilogues.
On The Journey…
-a.
Everyone driving towards a feeling of belonging. I like that concept.
